Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Today we have Mimi’s special Valentine’s Day inspiration that will for sure melt your heart!
First she used the Gazania Stencils 360° to create this dreamy floral background. She used Barrel B from this stencil set and rotated it at 22.5 degree turning intervals (referencing the heart symbols), while alternating between two hues of pink, namely Kitsch Flamingo and Milled Lavender Distress Oxide inks.
She further layered Barrel C on top for the added dimension, again with the same turning interval, but this time blending with Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide.
She then colored and die cut a super adorable little girl from Most Wonderful Time stamp set. I like how she also gave her a cute love banner (from the Inseparable stamp set)!
She also die cut some hearts from Inseparable and scatter them over the card. Then using the negative die-cut of this heart, she ink blend even more hearts onto her card with matching ink colors, Kitsch Flamingo and Pickled Raspberry Distress Oxides.
To finish off, she added a sentiment from Birthday Wishes and applied some Diamond Stickles & more sparkly embellishments!
Thank you so much Mimi for sharing this sweet inspiration!
I love the touch of gold accents she added behind the Christmas tree!
For my card below I started by spinning Stencil A at 15 degree interval, and followed by 22.5 degree intervals, using two different ink colors.
I then used Stencil B for inking and spun it at 30 degree intervals using a darker shade.
Finally I spun Stencil C at 30 degree intervals to add details to the center of the flower. I just love the depth that the combination of overlays create. The sentiment is from Heartfelt Notes.
Mediterranean style features bold designs emphasizing textures and unique color palettes. With these stencils, you can experiment with earthy tones like terracotta, yellow, turquoise, or metallic in copper and gold. You just might find your new favourite ink color combo while playing with this stylish design!
By changing the turning interval of the stencil, I was able to create two very different designs for my cards.
I used a 45 and 30 degree intervals for the first and second card respectively. I wanted to choose color palettes that would accentuate the Mediterranean vibes.
I then popped these backgrounds onto bright vibrant back panels which complement these color palettes.
I clear heat embossed the sentiment in this card to make it stand out even more from the background.
