Hi there everyone! Ashley is sharing a quick and easy encouragement card featuring products from our earliest releases!
To build her background, Brutus Monroe Glitter Glaze in a red colour was applied through the Rain of Hearts stencil onto a piece of red cardstock. While that dried, images from the Get Well Soon stamp set were stamped in black ink and coloured with Copic markers. She had a few sentiments of her own from My Favourite Things, and cut them into a couple strips.
The dried hearts panel was glued onto a red card base with a red patterned paper border. The images and sentiment banners were adhered to the card front with foam squares.

Today, we are going to focus on the final product in this release which is a Stand-Alone die called the Classic Diamond Backdrop.
First up is Vera’s dreamy card! I love her soft- toned inked background. She used the Dots Meet Dashes Small Rectangle Overlays to cut out two small rectangles to house her cute little bunnies from the My BFF stamp set, together with the Cola & drink from the There’s No One Like You stamp set. The clouds and smiley rainbows are also from the My BFF stamp set. She kept her card relatively simple but it is super gorgeous!
Next is Davina’s delightful friendship card. I just love the bright rainbow color blending on this diamond backdrop. She layered it against a white card base which makes the diamond cut-outs really pop! The cute kids are from the new The Sweetest Truck stamp set. As you can see, with a bold backdrop like this one, you don’t really need to add too much in order to create a charming card!
Jo made a dazzling shaker card for us using this stand-alone die. These cute images and sentiment are from the Hot Mama stamp set. I love how she created a 2-layer backdrop. The little fish tails are just the ideal addition to this mermaid card! The sequins she used also match the color of her card seamlessly!
Winners will be announced on our Blog and on Instagram TOMORROW! You have until 11:00pm (PST) tonight to enter. Come and play along with us!
We hope you have enjoyed these inspirations with Classic Diamond Backdrop! Tomorrow will be Reveal & Inspirational Chapter Wrap Up and Winners Reveal! We’ll see you again tomorrow!
Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!
All of her images were colored using Spectrum Noir Illustrator and Copics. Love the white gel pen dotted highlights.
I love how she composed her slimline scene in different layers from top to bottom, with the sky, beach, ocean and seabed.
The ink blending on this card is done beautifully. She chose Blueprint Sketch and Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide Inks for the ocean; Antique Linen for the beach and and Worn Lipstick for the sky.
I love how she modify the mermaid image from the Let’s Catch Up stamp set (by cutting out the yoga mat) and made it look like a swimming mermaid! How cute!
To finish off, she stamped out the sentiment “SUN-KISSED” with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with white WOW embossing powder.
Thank you Anja for your lovely creation! This scene is incredible!
Hi there! Today Davina is back to share a dreamy holiday card with us! Looks like a bunch of happy penguins are having a party and the adorable mermaid is here to join in on the fun!
I love her sky background which was inked up using Distress Oxide Ink Pink Spun Sugar and Dusty Concord. The ocean was blended using Tumbled Glass and Peacock Feathers. The splash of bright white ink added a little more depth to the ocean.
She chose the white embossing paste as the medium with the Crystal Snowflakes Stencil on her blended sky, to create the perfect dreamy snowy scene! The pretty music notes are from the Fun Night Out stamp set, while the pretty mermaid is from the Get Well Soon stamp set.
I love the light pastel colors for all her characters and the whole card comes together so well in this sunset/dusk scene.
Thank you Davina for this fun card! Besides the cute images, I really love the balloons and hats accessories and the happy vibe of this card!
Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to announce that Ashley Young is now on the Penguin Palace Creative Team! Ashley is so talented and we are so happy that she has joined us!
I just love this card so much! Ashley used the Rain of Hearts stencil and alcohol ink for her background. I love how the hearts are subtly appearing from the blue inked background. The background really mimics the look of the deep blue sea.
She gave the mermaid in green a rose, as if she’s going to give it to the sick mermaid as a present, so cute!
I love the way she coloured the hair on both mermaids, so detailed. The jewel embellishments give the card some great finishing touches.
