3rd International Women’s Day Hop

Hello everyone! Women are the embodiment of love, strength and courage, and I’m super excited today to be a part of the 3rd International Women’s Day Hop!

I’m pleased to say that Penguin Palace, among many others are sponsoring this year’s hop. The first stop of the hop starts HERE, please head over to check-out the full hop list where you will find lots of wonderful inspirations from many talented artists, AND for a chance to win!

For this hop, I made a very feminine card. This colorful background was created using The Floral Wreath on our Stencils 360°TM tool, at a turning interval of 45°.

I ink blended a combination of Distress Oxide Inks including Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Bundled Sage, Cracked Pistachio, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron and Wilted Violet. There was no masking needed to apply these different colors to the different elements on this stencil, and that is the advantage of using the Stencils 360°TM tool! And, there was no cleaning of the stencil in between inking!

To give the card a little bit more interest, I used the scalloped die from the Words From The Heart (Chapters 1 & 2) – Coordinating Penguin Perfect Cuts on kraft cardstock and adhere that to the centre of my card. Then I took a piece of Elegant Backwash – Premium Fine Paper and wrap it around my card to form a sleeve.

I then cut another piece of kraft cardstock to house my sentiment. To match the theme of the hop, I chose the following scripty sentiment from the Words From The Heart (Chapter 2) stamp set:

“To the world you are a mother, but to your family you are the world”

As a new mom to my first born who just turned two years old, this sentiment really warms my heart. Like some of you, I’m now a Stay-at-Home mom since I quit my job about a year ago. I’m pretty sure we share and face some of the same challenges day in, day out; yet we choose this path, as we want to spend more time with our loved ones. And I’m so glad I did it, as no matter how frustrating it gets, there’s always a moment where I think to myself that all of the hard work is more than worth it…like the moment when my son smiles and says “I love you mommy” 🙂

I hope you enjoy the above inspiration! And I hope all of us crafters will continue to be kind, positive, humble, and always support and encourage each other as we take a step forward towards women empowerment!

Thank you for stopping by, don’t forget to click HERE to see the full hop list and play along for a chance to win!

Amazing Slimline Wreath by Bobbi!

Hi friends, Bobbi is back today with this gorgeous creation of hers, featuring our Stencils 360° Starter Kit  and the Scents of Fall Stencils 360°™.

Wow, I just love this elegant piece of art, full of fall vibes! Bobbi‘s slimline card measures 3-1/2″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall and it fits perfectly in a business-sized envelope.

First she cut out a panel of size 7″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall to do her ink blending on the Scents of Fall Stencils 360°™ to create this wreath. I love this idea since she can make a full wreath and have it appear on both the front and the back of the card – super clever!

The process of making this wreath was super simple, all you need to do is follow the markings on the new Stencils 360° and rotating the stencil at a 60° turning interval, ie. making references to every other circle on the scale! For the blending, she used Ranger Distressed Inks in Gathered Twigs (pinecones and stems), Milled Lavender (Leaves) and Rusty Hinge (pine branches).

I love the added shading on the pinecones, branches and berries with Copic coloring! It really elevates the look! More colors were added to the background using watercolor splatters in gold metallic and additional line designs wiht Copics.

The sentiment, “My deepest gratitude” from the Heartfelt Notes stamp set was heat embossed in white on a deep plum cardstock which really pops!

On the inside of the card she had two panels measuring 3-1/2″ wide X 8-1/2″ tall. These panels are adhered to cover any bleed from the Copic coloring.

On this panel, she stenciled a few pinecones and branches using Gathered Twigs with a touch of ink splatter in black which looks really beautiful! The phrase, “Heartfelt Thanks” was also from Heartfelt Notes.

To finish off her card she added a few metallic floral sequins for a little sparkle!

Thank you so much Bobbi for this magnificent creation!

A Clean & Elegant Floral Card by Anja!

Hello everybody! Today Anja is back to share a beautiful floral card created using the new Floral Wreath Stencils 360° TM!

Anja first cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card panel using the Dots Meet Dashes Large Rectangles Overlays stand-alone die.

With our new Stencils 360°TM and the new Floral Wreath Stencils 360° TM, she ink blended a combination of Mowed Lawn, Bundled Sage, Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick and Speckled Egg Distress Oxide inks while turning her stencil at an interval of 45°.

This instantly results in a super elegant floral background for her card!

She stamped out a sentiment “May You Be Happy Always” from Words From The Heart (Chapter 2) using two of the same inks she used for her background to give it a cohesive look. This sentiment was die cut using a circular die from Words From The Heart (Chapters 1&2) Coordinating Penguin Perfect Cuts.

To give it a little more interest, she further die cut another piece using the hexagon die from Words From The Heart (Chapters 1&2) Coordinating Penguin Perfect Cuts on a matching color cardstock and adhered that underneath the sentiment.

Wreath building are certainly cool with stamps, but have you tried it with Stencils yet? If not, you are missing out on the fun!

Thanks Anja for your wonderful creation! I just love the feminine and delicate look of this card!

Penguin Palace September Blog Hop

Hello and Happy Wednesday! Welcome to our September Blog Hop! This hop is super special to us because this is Penguin Palace’s first-ever Blog Hop! We are celebrating this day with a Giveaway, and a group of talented artists will be joining me to bring you lots of inspirations featuring fabulous products from our Fall 2020 New Release!

Today’s hop starts right here on the PP blog! I’ve prepared for you two very different cards. The first one is created with the Floral Wreath Stencils 360°™.

This new stencil combined with our new tool Stencils 360°™, makes this wreath super easy to build. I used a turning interval of 45° and blended a combination of Hickory Smoke, Blueprint Sketch, Squeezed Lemonade and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks onto my 7″ x 7″ Essentials – Smooth Bright White 100lb. Heavy Weight Cardstock.

Then I stamped a scripty sentiment from Words From The Heart (Chapter 1) using the Crown Me ink pad by Simon Hurley.

Then I used The Sandstone Series – Navy Seal – Premium Fine Paper and Splendorlux Argento – Heavy Weight Premium Cardstock and left two 1/8″ borders to formed my card base. I just love the elegant look this stencil gives.

My next card features the Scents of Fall Stencils 360°™. Combined with the Stencils 360°™, I blended Picked Raspberry, Hickory Smoke, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch onto a piece of 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ Smooth Bright White 100lb. Heavy Weight Cardstock, at the recommended turning interval of 60°.

Then I die cut a bold sentiment with the You Are My Inspiration Shadow Dies, using The Sandstone Series – Cool Granite – Heavy Weight Premium Cardstock and The Sandstone Series – Navy Seal – Premium Fine Paper.

I then added an 1/8″ boarder using the same Navy Seal – Premium Fine Paper to match my sentiment shadow.

Both of these cards were super easy to make. With the new Stencils 360°™, I did not have to apply any masking in order to blend different colors on the stencil, which saves me a lot of time! I hope you’re inspired by my projects, please hop along to the next stops for more wonderful inspirations!

This new set of tools allow you to create with circular stencils for the first time ever!! With Stencils 360°™, it is now possible to create special layering effects, and achieve variations of beautiful backgrounds with just a single stencil!

Moreover, create attractive multi-colour stenciled backgrounds and even wreaths in the least amount of time! In the past, if you wanted to ink blend a certain element or certain areas of a stencil, you would need to do some tracing and or masking . But with our new tool, this won’t be necessary! Check out our Intro Video with step by step instructions on how to use this tool! I promise you are going to love it!

This set of tools come in a Starter Kit, in combination with the Waterspout Stencils 360°™ which will be showcased later this week, and the new Adhesive Eraser!

Stencils 360°™ Starter Kit

This Adhesive Eraser is the perfect tool for removing adhesive residue and is a super handy tool to have in your craft stash. Best of all it comes in hot pink!

Aside from Intro to our Stencils 360°™ Starter Kit, today we’ll also be focusing on three new stencils from this release. First up is the Summer Blossom Stencils 360°™.

Summer Blossom Stencils 360°™

Combined with the Stencils 360°™, this 8″ stencil helps you creates the most stunning floral background in the shortest time!

The overlaid geometric patterns in this card were created by rotating the stencil at 30° turning intervals during the ink blending process. I created this trio-toned card using Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Inks. The image in the centre is from one of our new stamp sets, which will be showcased later this week.

In the next example, I used the 6″ Paper Positioner with a 6″x6″ cardstock. I also used a turning interval of 30° on this card.

Using Picked Raspberry, I blend while referencing to the solid circles; cleaned my stencil just once; then using Wilted Violet, I made reference to the hollow circles while blending. It’s that simple!

In the below example, I rotated the stencil at 45° turning intervals. As you can see, the smaller the turning interval, the fuller and more complex the overlays get. and vice versa.

This card was done on a 4 3/4″ cardstock and you can already see the different look that the same stencil gives.

Next, we have the Mega Summer Blossom Stencils 360°™.

Mega Summer Blossom Stencils 360°™

This set is part of the Double-Barrel™ Series, as each pack contains 2 stencils, an 8″ and a 4″. These stencils can be used together or separately. Compared to the Summer Blossom, this set creates a much larger floral pattern. This 8″ stencil gives a much bigger creative space in the middle. In the card below, this centre space was decorated using the smaller 4″ barrel, which is the perfect extension to the 8″ barrel to create more intricate details.

I used a stamp image from our new release and die cut it using its coordinating stitched scalloped die which we’ll showcase later this week. You can also mix the 8″ barrel with another 4″ barrel from a different set to create a totally different look.

As you can see in the photo below, this set is also great for home décor! If you love decorating your home with handmade arts, you’ll definitely enjoy this set!

The last showcase for today is the Floral Wreath Stencils 360°™!

Floral Wreath Stencils 360°™

Most of us have built wreaths before using stamps which is lots of fun. But have you tried to build a wreath using a single stencil? My guess would be no. But if you have, it would have taken you much needed time for the tracing and masking in the past.

All three cards below were made with the Floral Wreath Stencils 360°™!

With this new tool, you are now able to blend different colors to different areas to a stencil in one go, without the need for tracing or masking!

I only had to clean my stencil once at the end of the blending process!

If you like big scripty images, you will love our stamps from this new release! Stay tuned for more showcases later this week!

Check out our Intro Video on our YouTube Channel to see how I create a card!
