Hello crafters! Happy Sunday! Today we have another fun inspiration for you from Candice!

Candice use this month’s Sketch challenge inspiration to create this adorable Thank You card!

Love the bright vibrant colors!

Hello crafty friends! Even though we might celebrate Thanksgiving on different dates in different countries, the reason behind this day is all the same – honoring blessings and celebrating the harvest of the past year.

This special day is a reminder for me to appreciate all that is joyful in my life.  It is the perfect time for gathering with loved ones and expressing gratitude for our family, friends, and our health.  Given what’s happening in the world everyday, the uncertainty, disorder, instability, there’s no better time than to give thanks for all that is well.

On the other hand, there’s also those who are less fortunate, or those who are going through a rough patch. It is understandable that sometimes one might feel they don’t have much to be grateful for; or one might feel stressed or overwhelmed and choose to spend time alone, and that’s okay too. No matter how you’re feeling or however you decide to spend your Thanksgiving, stay true to yourself, as only you know what’s best for you at a particular point in time.

This year Thanksgiving in Canada falls on Oct 9th and I have some very exciting news to share with you! I feel there is no better time then to give back and to make an announcement during this special holiday. Penguin Palace is proud to be supporting a Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) approved independent fundraising event, Cards for The Cure.

For those who are new to this blog, I’m Sharon Yeung, owner of Penguin Palace.  I started Cards for The Cure in hopes to help change the future of cancer for my friends, family and people affected by cancer across the country. With nearly half of Canadians expected to be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime, EVERY donation will make an impact.  100% of your donation will go directly to the CCS to fund the most promising research in ovarian and endometrial cancer prevention and treatment.  Your funding will also help CCS to provide compassionate and personalized services to those diagnosed with cancer, as well as support to their family & friends as no one should face cancer alone.

Starting next month, my handmade greeting cards will be available for purchase in selected shops located in my community, Kerrisdale, Vancouver. If you’re in the neighborhood I really hope you will come by and show your support! Every handmade card you purchase WILL make a difference. Brighten a loved one’s day by sending them a handmade card. It will go a long way in spreading the word to support this meaningful cause and inspire those around you to take control of cancer!

Or please ACT NOW and head directly via. my CCS fundraising page, and donate by clicking the SUPPORT ME button.

By donating funds to this event, you are helping to champion world leading outcomes in ovarian and endometrial cancer prevention, treatment and support.

An official tax receipt will be sent to the email address provided.

If you are not in Metro Vancouver you can also show your support by donating your handmade cards to the following address:

A custom stamp will go on all of the handmade cards.

What do you think of this custom stamp that I designed specially for this fundraiser? Leave me a comment below! (The QR code takes the card recipient to the official Canadian Cancer Society Cards for The Cure fundraising page so more people can support this meaningful cause)

(In 2020/21, CCS invested $46.8 million in life-saving research across all cancer types.  This included $11 million to enable more than 150 clinical trials by the best and brightest researchers to test new strategies and to treat and prevent cancer.)

I sincerely hope I can count on you for your support! Happy Thanksgiving!
