Sending Warm Hugs … from Candice!

Hello! I hope everyone had a great weekend! Candice is with us today sharing a Just Because card with a theme inspired by this month’s Penguin Palace card challange!

Her card was inspired by our Challenge #14: Geometric!

She started by blending a rainbow background using Distress Oxide inks. I just love this rainbow hue!

Then she blended a few slightly darker shades of the same colors through our new Hieroglyphs stencil to create a tone on tone geometric-inspired background! This versatile stencil lets you create an interesting background for any type of card!

She stamped and Copic-colored one of the images from the Inseparable stamp set and cut them out using the coordinating die.

Next, she white heat-embossed the “Sending Warm Hugs” sentiment from the Unity and Friendship Quotes onto some gray cardstock and die cut it with the coordinating Penguin Perfect Cuts. I love how this coordinating die trims closely to the letters for a very detailed finished look. She then finished her card with some sparkly embellishments!

We love seeing your creations and would love for you to join us in this month’s Challenge. All you have to do to enter is use the challenge theme to create a project that features at least one Penguin Palace product as the focal point. Full challenge rules can be found here.

This month’s challenge runs until June 29th at 11:59 PDT. We’ll select a winner to receive a $25 CAD gift certificate to ppstamps.com from both challenges #13 and #14 which will be announced on July 1st at the beginning of challenge #15!

June Inspiration Week – Day 2

Hello and welcome to Penguin Palace’s June Inspiration Week – Day 2! If you’re just joining us, don’t forget to head over to our Giveaway Post from yesterday where you can leave your comments to win a Special Goodie Bag worth over $170CAD/$130USD!

Today we’ll be showcasing a new 6” x 6” stencil, The Rose – Close Up! This gorgeous stencil makes it fun and easy to whip up a beautiful card in half the time!

Check out Karen’s charming card below!

I love the light pink/purple hue with a touch of bright yellow color-combo! It’s so refreshing! The “Sending Warm Hugs” sentiment is from the Unity and Friendship Quotes.

Julie went for a more traditional color choice for her rose. The color gradients really give the rose a very realistic look! What an amazing job by Julie!

I love the splashes of paint in a few different colors which makes the card even more interesting! The sentiment is from the new So Blessed stamp set.

Next is my card. I wanted a pastel look on my rose, so I blended Distress Oxides in Tattered Rose and Worn Lipstick. The sentiment is also from the new So Blessed stamp set.

I used Cotton Candy and cut out an A2 size back panel. To finish off, I added some clear hearts embellishments of different sizes to give it a more elegant look!

Lastly I wanted to share this card again as I really like how it turned out. Some of you might have seen this during Reveal Week last month.

The sans serif letters are from Modern Deluxe Alphabets and I used the Coordinating Templates to arrange the bold letters.

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s inspirations! We will continue to have lots of wonderful products and projects to showcase this week so don’t forget to visit us again tomorrow!

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a lovely day!

Butterfly Inspirations with Stefanie and Karen!

Hi everyone, hope you’re having a great week! I’m sharing two gorgeous creations from our team this evening and they both happen to have butterflies as the core element of the card!

First we have Stefanie’s card! Her creation is so bright and delightful!

She blended a beautiful background using the Mega Blocks – Penguin Perfect Patterns 6×6 stencil. I love how she used Layer 4 from the Butterfly Emergence 2 in 1 Layered Dies and pair it with vellum to create this dreamy look – so gorgeous!

I also love how this card works for a lot of different occasions; anniversaries, friendships, just because, valentine’s, you name it!

Next we have Karen’s inspiration. Her card also features the butterfly from the Butterfly Emergence 2 in 1 Layered Dies. She picked just one of the dies from Layer 3. I really love how this intricate die alone gives a card an elegant focal point!

For the background, she used the Slimline Oriental Cover Die. This is a slimline cover die, and she cleverly trimmed this off so that it works for her standard size card!

The sentiment is from Magical Christmas Sentiments. She added a few gems to finish it off.

Thank you so much Stefanie and Karen for your wonderful inspirations!

Thank you for stopping by, have a great rest of the week everyone!

Here’s the project I made for today:

I thought what better stamp set to use to celebrate National Coffee Day than with Rabbit Café!

First I created this fun geometric background using one of our soon-to-be-released 360° circular stencils to create a focal point on front panel which measures 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″. This stencil is very versatile as it allows you to create different configurations of geometric backgrounds by using different degree of turns on our Stencils 360°™  . Consider this a little sneak peek (stay tuned for more)!

I blended with two gorgeous Catherine Pooler ink colors, Sauna and Green Tea on the stencil. I then added the Avery Elle Clear Shimmer Spray for some extra glow!

Using the coordinating dies to the Rabbit Café stamp set, I die cut a window on my panel so that the little girl with the coffee cup will show through from the inside. I white heat embossed the sentiment “Brew-tiful Day” onto Teal Sapphire cardstock and adhered that onto my card. To make my note card, I used the Sunkissed cardstock (these two are both new colors and are part of our upcoming release), cut out a 4 3/4″ x 9 1/2″ piece and scored at 4 3/4″.

For the inside I adhered a panel measuring 4 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ onto my note card. Before I stamp the little girl, I made sure to position it precisely behind the cut-out window on the front.

I also added “Stay Sweet” & “Coffee Lover”, and a tiny donut from the My Sweetest Truck stamp set, which I thought coordinates with the Coffee theme perfectly! Finally I added gems to the front for some extra sparkle.

It’s Never Too Early for X’mas Greeting Cards!

Hi friends! Want some inspirational ideas for a Christmas card? Today we have a fantastic card created by Bobbi featuring the Crystal Snowflakes – Penguin Perfect Patterns.

These beautiful snowflakes were created using Frostbite Glacier Paste by Nuvo on the Crystal Snowflake Stencil. I love how Bobbi added a more subtle layer of stenciled snowflakes in grey for the color contrast.

The sentiment Merry X’mas was stamped in a Memento Teal Zeal ink and die cut it with its coordinating die.

I love how she added a layer of vellum using the scalloped circular die from the Warmest Wishes and Heartfelt notes die set to give it a softer look.

She then added a metallic silver string to make the sentiment look like a hanging ornament which is perfect since this image was designed three dimensionally as if the sentiment was engraved on a sphere!

For the sparkly touch, she added teal, white and aqua sequins, and teal dots using Glass Effects Gel in a teal color.

Mass producing X’mas cards is sure made super simple with this stencil!

Thank you Bobbi! Your card is so bright and beautiful!
